WEEKENDS

Since starting my new job, I've developed a new found appreciation for weekends. For a good few years now I've had to have my nose in multiple books all weekend and it's an utter delight that they now stretch out before me on a friday, so full of promise.

Thus far I've enjoyed a couple of days in the country, strolling along the South Bank and on to the Matisse exhibition, a spree in Bicester Village and supper in Oxford and, of course, being at home in Richmond.
This sunday, bacon baguettes eaten, we arrived in the park just in time to see the London Surrey Road Race peloton whizz past. We were then forced to set up camp under one of the park's cafe roofs until the remnants of Bertha's thundery showers passed by.

We slowly meandered home (I say slowly, because I did my first ever Wireless Bootcamp on Richmond Green this Saturday. To say I was feeling it would be an understatement!). On our way home we happened across King Henry's Mound Telescope, which gives a perfect 10 mile view of St Paul's through the park. Who knew?!

I wore: J.Crew parka, Whistles tee, Topshop ripped jeans, Converses.

Lovely food, red wine and a good film await. Happy weekend!

WHAT I WORE: WHISTLES DOWN COAT

I wore my new Whistles Frankie Down Fill Bomber to visit the deer in Richmond Park this weekend. I tell you, our last few visits to the park have been rather adrenaline-filled thanks to rutting season! There are huge dear behaving erratically all over the place and they have a tendency of popping up very suddenly just a few metres away from where you're strolling. This leads to me getting wide-eyed, a touch SAS-like and beating a retreat through the brush. In the above pictures I was keeping my beady eyes on them at all times in case they made any sudden moves in my direction. I was ready.

I digress. This is my new coat from Whistles which I adore. I've been on the hunt for a down coat since last year and have finally bitten the bullet and opted for this Whistles offering. I had always thought Uniqlo would deliver, but was frightfully disappointed when their down coat arrived on my doorstep. On me, it was nipped in at the waist and very long - not the thing at all. The fur trim, whilst detachable, was rather thin and limp. All in all, a bit sad.
When I noticed this little fellow on the Whistles website, I acted swiftly and am very pleased I did. It's super warm and, as with so many Whistles pieces, is very luxe looking whilst remaining subtle and doing the job you want it to do. I find Whistles coats size quite large, so I got mine in a size 6.

I'm wearing: Whistles down coat, Topshop Jamie jeans, Hunter wellies and Pure Collection cashmere gloves.

COLLAGE-O-TASTIC

No, this collage doesn't quite live up to its billing, but I fancied doing a little update and trying out my new collage-creating-wonder-app. I'm really rather pleased with my first foray into the medium - I thought people must spend hours lining up and cropping their photographs and don't mind admitting I was pretty jealous of their determination and skill set. Turns out... 69p will do it and it's a piece of cake. (Would you look at those borders!)

A mini-glimpse of things that have been keeping me busy (other than revision text books): my new Mango (read: in my head Marant-esque (indulge me)) purchases - a baseball tee and cream knit, both of which I love. My latest obsession: DIY friendship bracelets alongside my Topshop gold spike bracelet, and finally, me looking rather pleased with myself atop a tree stump in Richmond Park wearing my trusty Gap parka and black Hunter wellington boots.

Be warned - there might be one or two more of these collage fellows. They just look so chic!
